SPECIFIC TO OUR OPERATIONS

STAFF SHOULD STUDY AND BEWARE OF OUR PROCEEDURES

Under no circumstances should certain staff carry out manual handling operations defined as risk 5 or aboveithout the nessacery training.Or unfit staff,staff over weight staff with medical conditions that make the tasks a higher risk for themselves ie corona Flue Sprains Aches or pains less strenous tasks will be found.

Manual handling proceedures and assessments have been carried out for years at these premises and the risks have been assessed and where mechanical handling aids help they have been provided and should be used correctly

RISK FACTOR IS 1  TO  10    1= LOWEST RISK

A= KEEP BACK STRAIGHT WHEN LIFTING

B= TEEM LIFTING proceedure is to risk assess the task as weights vary ask driver to use his hoist if he has one to tow the carpet roll out just under halfway then 2 persons of equal build and strengh clasp hands under roll to assess weight and decide if extra help is needed to manouvre roll on to trolley ready for transport.

C = CENTRE LOAD ON SHOULDER IF AFTER assessing the weight as above you know it is well within your capabilities

E= CHECK OUT ROUTE FOR OBSTACLES  BEFORE TRANSPORTING AND WHO MAY BE AFFECTED

H= WAREHOUSE STAFF only UNTRAINED OR OTHER PERSONS SHOULD NOT DO IT UNLESS when training and under supervision
